Our Philosophy
At Sudbrink Performance Academy, we believe the most beneficial way to learn and grow in the performing arts is to closely follow the procedures of professional and collegiate theatre. Learning the way it works in the real world is the best way to prepare those kids who have a true interest in the performing arts.
Auditions are competitive, and not everyone will get in.
We feel passionate about our full-scale productions being reserved for students who are ready for the stage. Theatre is competitive by nature, and the kids who have honed their skills in classes or lessons with any reputable company will be more ready for their place on the stage.
Our belief: A student should learn about theatre before they perform on the stage. This is no different than asking that a basketball player learn the rules and skills of the game before they are put on a court to play.
Why do we do it this way?
Our goal is to instill a drive and work ethic into our students. Our mission is to motivate, challenge, and prepare them for what they'll face in life - not only in auditions, but in college applications, job interviews, and competing for promotions. Our standards help develop confident and focused young adults.
There are many youth theatre programs in this area of Wisconsin, and we are delighted by that! It is great to know that there is so much appreciation for the arts where we live. All of these programs are different and offer unique opportunities. It is always good to try several programs and find where you feel you fit best.
We will always offer opportunities for kids to learn and get ready for the stage. We will always help new kids develop the skills they need to build up their readiness. Never hesitate to contact us for advice or to find out what you can do to help your child most.
The bottom line is that we are rooting for all our students, we want them to do their best and to learn as much as possible. By having a more competitive production, we give our classroom students a goal to work toward.
