Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical comedy featuring the beloved characters and hit songs from the films!
It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney’s beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the troublemaking offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos – the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jafar – are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents’ sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps or learn to be good?
Casting: 21 roles, ranging in size, plus vocal & dance ensembles and dance features (hip hop). See a full listing of characters at the bottom of this page.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
$220 in two payments ($120 of this amount may be paid for by fundraising efforts)
1.) $100 due upon acceptance of role. (non-refundable if student drops for any reason)
2.) $120 paid by cash/check/SudKid Credits by July 10.
A note on tuition cost:
Our tuition totals only cover our facilities rental. If only we had our own theatre, but as we do not, this is our largest single expense we incur in producing a show. We are always looking to fundraise to help pay for costumes, sets, lighting, sound, microphone rental, and more! Ask how you can help!
- The show is appropriate for an audience of all ages, and most roles are teen-centric. Anyone who will be between the ages of 8-20 on August 9, 2020 is eligible to audition.
- Schedule an audition and prepare the required materials. Materials link will appear in your confirmation message after you schedule your audition. Be sure to click it and then bookmark that page!
- Have a great attitude and be a team player. Be ready to work and driven to be better every day.
- Please check the rehearsal schedule at the bottom of this page and make sure you are willing to commit to all rehearsals you are called for. You will have an opportunity to submit pre-planned conflict requests prior to rehearsals starting.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR A SAFE DISTANCE AUDITION:
Please create 3 separate videos for these categories (don't try to do all three in one)
1.) VOCAL
Please create 3 separate videos for these categories (don't try to do all three in one)
1.) VOCAL
- For your audition, we ask that you sing roughly 45 - 90 seconds of song. Sing with a backing track that does not have lead vocals (find a karaoke track). Alternatively, you may sing a cappella, though not ideal. Your audition piece does not need to be from a musical. Please try to find a piece that fits the style of the show.
- Record yourself so that you are visible while singing.
- Before singing, please state your name, and the name of the song. Then begin.
- Send a monologue between 30 seconds and 1 minute in length. You may find your own, or use our resources to choose one have provided on our audition resource page. (a link to this page will be in your confirmation after signing up for an audition slot)
- Before beginning your monologue, state your name and why you want to be in Descendants the Musical. Then begin.
- You will receive two dance videos by May 18. Please complete ONE. If you want to dance as much as possible in the show, and be considered to be part of the leading group in the dance numbers, complete Dance B: Advanced. If you want to audition to be in the musical, and you're most comfortable with minimal dancing, complete Dance A: Standard.
